If your furnace is on its last legs, you can probably set up a replacement in the off-season to get a new one put in. There are a number of advantages to doing so. Since you won’t need your heater and can arrange for the replacement according to your schedule, instead of rushing the way you would if an old heater breaks down for the last time in the middle of winter.
