Consider an Air Conditioning Upgrade This Holiday Season

With cold weather here, Westlake, OH residents are turning off their air conditioners and turning on their heaters. This makes for an ideal time to have your air conditioner serviced and repaired, since you have plenty of time to schedule it at your convenience instead of rushing to get it done ahead of the next heat wave. In addition to repairs, you might want to consider an air conditioning upgrade this holiday season, or an indoor air quality addition designed to make its life a little easier. A trained technician can discuss your options with you, but here are some obvious possibilities to consider.

New Thermostats

Your thermostat controls your heating and air conditioning system, and most are designed to last for many years. But if you’ve had yours for a while, you might have missed some of the technological developments in the field in the last few years. They include smart programming which automatically adjusts the temperature to match your habits and remote control via an application on your phone, letting you adjust your air conditioner literally from anywhere in the world.

Dehumidifiers

Air conditioners tend to act as dehumidifiers already, since lowering the temperature of the air pulls moisture out of it. (That’s why you get dew in the early hours of the morning.) But it’s not built for that activity, and our Ohio summers can get very humid indeed, increasing the strain and energy consumption on your system. A whole-house dehumidifier can help ease that burden, helping your air conditioner last longer and lowering your monthly energy bills to boot. And it does that while still making your home a drier and more comfortable place to be just when you need it the most.

Now is the time to make these upgrades, when you have little need of your air conditioner. Call Westland Heating and Air to learn more!
